Joe the Plumber doesn't make 250,000 a year either. He was saying IF he wants to start a small business why will I be taxed. In turn Obama described spreading the wealth.
My husband is a licensed plumber - and as one, owning a business, the BUSINESS can easily bring in more than 250,000 a year. BUT he doesn't!! There is payroll, health benefits, 401K savings plans, truck/van purchases and maintenance, rent on the shop space, the price of gas for ALL the vehicles, office supplies, etc……
When he gets taxed more, he will either have to raise prices or layoff a couple guys…..
VOTE MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does a plumbing business with multiple employees make $250,000? You think? A small business, sole proprietor, getting the same treatment as an individual. Got to tell you, a small business I worked for in college (an independent mailbox store with only one employee) made $450,000 renting mailboxes and making copies. So yeah, plumbing could be more profitable than you seem to think.
Some plumbers charge $85 + an hour and con people so …
I guess that guy is an honest plumber
I`m a plumber who works for a company that makes over $250,000! Or I did until I got laid off last month. I voted for McCain but if Obama wins I`ll just sit back and wait for my welfare check!
One of my best friends is a plumber and he easily pulls in a bout $250,000 yr. But, he doesn't report any cash transactions and he writes off everything and more that is allowable bringing his net income to about $50K. That's how our tax system works; if you make a lot of money, you have lots of loopholes.
