Navajo are Athapaskan, and it is pretty certain they came over the Bering Strait from Siberia. they are latecomers to the area they now live in…. may be the latest to come over from Asia. but i think they were here before the time of Genghis Khan. i hadn't heard of Ethel Stewart, so thanks for the question. as for being of Asian descent, certainly. hope today goes better for you.
You know, I saw this documentary on Mongolians with Julia Roberts in it. If I didn't know it, those guys look like some Johns I know around here! They even make portable hogans! I was just waiting for one of them to point with their lips, or see Mongolian versions of James and Ernie.
If you didn't have it, this seems to have a better discussion of what Ethel Stewart theorizes, and why.
What you accept or do not accept is something you have to choose. DNA, by the nature of it, is a new science, and subject to controversy. While it does relate to ancestry, genealogy operates on a different and more specific approach.
I am not sure why you feel as if you are being chewed out. If your topic/question is one that is open to differing perspectives, it is to be expected that you will receive a variety of comments. In genealogy, I personally welcome someone doing "checks and balances" by offering me alternative evidence, thus we both can cordially weigh the pros and cons.
In terms of your DNA discussion, I don't have a opinion, one way or the other. Simply trying to offer resources for you to explore, and evaluate for yourself.
