I have both Russian and Mongolian way back in my line. But as far as direct contact you could do research on both the countries.

Most of the people in central Asia have been mixing since prehistoric times, from the earliest tribes and races.

Modern people in areas such as Russian, Mongolia, Korea, China, and Japan are mixtures of early tribes from those areas, and continued to mix during recorded history due to various conquerings and invadings. All of these countries have ethnic minorities, and race-mixing still continues today.

This includes other central Asian countries such as Kyrgyzstan. That's my favorite example of a former part of the Russian Empire, the people of which look Siberian — since most of them descended from Siberians. They also are related to Tajiks, Ukrainians, Poles, and even Icelanders.

If you get into the genetic distribution of central Asia, or of ANY area actually, it's really fascinating and complicated. There are people who make the study of this their life's work.
