does anyone know the best route from London, England to Ulanbataar, Mongolia?
mackinstackinandnoslackin asked:
Myself and a few friends are planning to drive to Mongolia, as part of a charity event, and we are wondering which is the best route.
Ideally we want to avoid war-torn countries and raiders, and see some interesting countries.

The most direct route would be
England-France-Germany-Czech Republic- Poland-Ukraine-Russia-Kazakhstan-Mongolia
but there are a lot of boring countries on that list and I was wondering if anybody has better suggestions?
sorry… meant to say 'boring to drive through'
ie. it takes 1 week to drive through Kazakhstan and the terrain is more or less the same, according to my sources. Therefore we are searching for countries which have interesting terrain or cities to stop off in along the way.

there are no boring countries on that list and if you took the time to see them you would find that out. the route you listed would be a great road trip.
some of those countires have a history and culture as old as our own and are definitely worth checking out.
