I need to travel with pet / dog (Mongolia to the US). Concerned about weather, cargo, luggage?
Jessica S asked:
I will be moving home next February from Mongolia to the United States. I am interested in this regard time and are so cold you go as baggage on flights and you freeze to death because of the luggage container in a plane is not the set temperature. What is the difference between pets traveling as baggage or cargo on flights? Is there special meaning to get in the U.S. without a freezer? Someone told me that there may be temperature regulated containers in the aircraft for domestic animals. I will have to pass this fall to avoid the freezing temperatures in winter? Finally, what are the temperatures at which an airline determines that it is dangerous forward pet on a flight? It is not an option so that you are continuing. The additional observations, links, information regarding the international travel of pets and how to get a ticket on a flight that would not be valued above, should you send her just this fall to my mother in California. I should say that I am required to fly on a carrier in the United States (they are of a Fulbright scholar and is a requirement of my license.) Furthermore, I don 't have a lot of money to spend. I was thinking around $ 500. $ 1000 is completely unacceptable and I will have to find another way to get his house.

I'm not so yippee on this putting pets under the plane stuff, I would ask the air line LOTS of questions and your vet as well. Get lots of opinions. It would be awful to have something happen to her on the plane.
I would recommend working through a pet travel agent. The International animal welfare organization that I work with, finds the travel agents worth their weight in gold.
They make certain that the flight is one with air controlled space for the dog, and help get the pet through all customs, etc.
I'll post some links if you would like..
I'll check back to see what you think.,
( we just completed getting 41 military mascots stateside from Iraq! Woo-hoo!)
Here are some links. You might shop to get the best price quote:
This one is really nice to work with:
Great links:
i recommend, you try to arrange to fly with reputable airlines!
I have flown 2 dogs, from EU countries to Canada.
I was recommended to use KLM(dutch airlines)
or Lufthansa(German airlines). Some airlines really have bad reputations for customer service and losing your luggage, or property.try not to use Aeroflot(if it is possible)
I don't know how much you are willing to spend…but there are several International Pet Shippers available…some URLs are listed below.
Probably the most affordable will be to have them fly with you. You will have to check with the Local Airline as each Carrier has their own policy towards pets and whether or not the plane in service has a heater / cooler in part of the luggage area. This varies among US Air Carriers as well.
You will need to check with other Air Carriers and Countries along the way. I understand that if you fly through Beijing…they are very strict…but if you avoid Beijing then it is more lenient.
Also, is it possible for you to delay departure until you can fly with your pet…or maybe take a return trip to pick her up when the weather is more comfortable for her? Good luck…I'd have a hard time leaving my two little monsters(not really little).
