If China invades Mongolia and/or Vietnam what would Russia do?
Justin L asked:
If China invades Mongolia and/or Vietnam what would Russia do? Mongolia and Vietnam are both Russian allies yet at the same time they have strained relations with China. By the looks of it China may invade them one of these days. So what would Russia's reaction mostlikely be to such an invasion?

China already tried invading Vietnam in 1978, and the Chinese got their collective ásses handed to them. I think the Vietnamese can look after themselves.
The Mongolians, on the other hand - that would be a problem. China already thoroughly conquered and colonized half of the Mongolian heartland, and the Chinese for some reason believe they have the right to wipe out the remainder of the Mongolian people. I don't know what Russia would do - the Russian military is nearly as bad as the Chinese military. But the Russians have one thing going for them that the Chinese do not - a bit of actual battle experience. The Chinese PLA is pretty much only effective at murdering unarmed civilians. They're not so good when they're fighting people who have the ability to fight back.
