I believe he did
Yes, marco polo had traveled to Mongolia. he had written accounts and diary entries about his stay in Asia, which lasted 17 years. He had been in Mongolia for 10 of those years with his brothers.
he had learned the customs and languages of Mongolia, and Kublai Khan also made him governor for three years of the large commercial city of Yangzhou.
