I think the majority of the mongol empire was absorbed into "other" races.
Chinese people killed them, for taking over China for a century.

The Mongolia you are thinking of (the independent country of Mongolia) is just a small part of the real Mongolia. The rest is called "Inner Mongolia", and currently exists as the Mongol autonomous region inside People's Republic of China. The population there is 23 million. This split of Mongolia into two parts (one independent, and the other dominated by China) happened during the power play between Soviet Russia and the Empire of Japan in the early 20th century.
