both of those are great names but i think for a poodle you should go with napolean, for one he was french I have always associated poodles with the french. also poodles are sopfisticated as was napolean, genghis was a barbarian just doesn't fit with a poodle

I think Napoleon because of the simple fact that it's easier to say.

Napoleon. Then you can call him Nappy when his hair grows out too much.

Napoleon, large Standard Poodles look very majestic so I think it would suit him.

Napoleon is too common among poodles. I have met three poodles before in my life at the pet store, all named Napoleon (and yes, they were different dogs)

I vote Genghis

Yo LO! @ 4:26 pm

Both of them are great names, but at the same time, don't roll off the tongue very easily…

Do the "Park" test…Go outside and yell it at the top of your lungs (Or to a large parking lot where nobody knows you…). The idea is to pretend you're recalling the dog from across a park - If it flows easily off the tongue, it's a good name.

go with napoleon but if i got a new poodel i would name her cloey or him austine hope i helped bye

You CANNOT name a Poodle Ghengis, they aren't asian in descent it would be a bad fit. Anything french german or swiss.
How 'bout Otto!

If you want a more common name choose Napoleon but if you want a name that is different choose Genghis. I personally would choose Napoleon but then again that is just my personal opinion. Well best of luck!!!

Genghis, definitely. Have you ever heard of the "Napoleon complex"? It's basically when small dogs think they're tough and can take on the world. Standard poodles are big, you probably don't want to associate him with a small, wimpy dog. Plus, Genghis sounds cool. Try saying both names to him, see if he responds to either one! My pup is named Tucker. I tried different names for a day or so, and he reacted when I said Tucker (barked, tilted his head). I took it as a sign.. he probably just had gas, but whatever. :)
