What are some good names for adventure/fantasy characters?

adventure
Gracey Liz asked:

I'm trying to write a adventure/fantasy novel, but I always get stuck
when trying to name my characters. But I don't like some of these
fantasy names that sound really stupid. I like them to sound semi
normal, but still fantasy sounding. Any ideas? It would really be a help.
And if you answer this question, please try to specify the male &
female names. Thanks for your time.
Just so you know, I don't even mind so much if the names actually exist already, as long as they're not too common.

I even like it if they are foreign names maybe.

yes foriegn-sounding names are good, ayria or flit, make 'em up based on the personality and their talent. a character w/ a good nose might be called wiffle or something. It's rather fun!

I've been reading fantasy for almost 40 years, and playing fantasy role-playing games for almost 30 - and I've found a perfect way to invent fantasy names.

Look around you and look at anything that has print, especially titles or names. Take what you find and just twist the spelling a little…

I have a flier in front of me for a Sexual Assault counseling service. Sexual Assault is easy to transform into Saxon Ault for something English sounding, Sa'as d'Sol for something Arabic sounding, Can you smell what I'm stepping in here?

I have a Panasonic TV on my desk… That turns into Panna Tollik, Vetta Penn, Vietta Panzo, and even Nika Pianna.

How about Barak Obama? Brak Marbo, Barma Kardo, Rackin Amma.

Once you get the pattern, it is easy to get into the vibe.

Isn't that right, Lizzen d'Grace (pronounced "Grass")?

I like Nevada it can be for a girl or boy. Angela is always good for a girl, it the closet to Angel you can get. Devone is also good for a girl, it my mothers name. Carlos is good for a boy. Tank is also a good one for a boy, Janet Evanovich has this one. Diesel is a also a good one for a boy, Janet also has this one.
