well people thought he was brutal because he had such a big army and took over villages..
and if you ask me he didnt like the euroasian countrys because he thought they surendered and didnt think they were string becausse the let in to the take over of other counrtys.
Wow…
With eyes like a cat, which could adjust to the night in seconds…the greatest conqueror of all time is considered brutal…he slaughtered thousands of enemies and drank his own horses blood when he and his warriors were in need of nutrients (they just seeled up the wound so they could keep on riding).
maybe that is a little brutal..
He hated those countries because they were his arch enemies!!!
good luck.
He did not really hate Eurasian countries, but he was doing what every military leader is doing, expanding the borders of the countries.
The Mongols had always been respectful of China, either due to past military defeats or cultural influences. Even then, Genghis Khan also attacked China and took over many Chinese territories. However, I think he dare not push any more further and directed his eyes towards the western countries.
It was his brilliant and vicious military tactics that won him many accolades. But, even without his sudden death, I think it woul have been very difficult for the Mongols to invade Europe, as his forces were already stretched thin and his some of his generals already thought of giving up the expansion policy and wanted to bolster up their current territories
from what I read in that Marco Polo story
he killed people for being too tall, or for any reason, I think he even had everybody at his funeral killed so nobody would find and loot his tomb
He once killed his little brother from an argue over catched fish when he was a teenager. He really had a harsh childhood life since his father's death when Genghis was 9 yrs old. This made him a tough man. The reason people consider him brutal is the slaughters he made during military campaign. After defeating Tatar, a rival clan, he ordered execution of all Tatarians taller than wheel of an ox cart. He took his father's revenge by that, not because they were tall.
Conquering other countries doesnt mean he hated them. Its the intention of expanding the borders of mongolian empire. He actually did little or no harm to those cities and countries which surrendered immediately.
